So, things are still moving right along :) As you can see in the pictures, I have definitely filled out in the mid-section and I am TRYING to not fill out anywhere else. Although I'm sure having chocolate ice cream 3 times a day, eating a ton at meal times and not exercising very much isn't helping!! At this point in the pregnancy I am feeling great, though. If anyone asks me if I would do this again soon I would say "in a heartbeat." Of course my mind has totally blocked out the first 13 weeks and the traumatic visit to the hospital in the 16th week!! And obviously I haven't given birth yet--that may change my mind very quickly.
I can't believe drill practice started yesterday! The team is looking pretty good and they were all google eyed over my growing tummy! I think this is going to be a very fun team and they are already showing very good work ethic--of course, we'll see when we get into the thick of things in October :) I am trying to prepare myself mentally for going back to work after such a relaxing summer and I know it's going to be hard. But, I gotta do it!! Well, that's the latest update. My next appointment isn't until the 18th so I'll report more then...
First day at Zoombezi Bay!!
Mallory's First Easter
Mallory spent her first Easter visiting Jason's family in West Virginia to go see Mamaw and Papaw Kendall, Auntie and Uncle Joyce and Jerry, Auntie and Uncle Sean and Marsha, Great Mamaw Highley and cousins once removed Casey, Micheal and Megan. The trip wasn't toooo bad. She did cry quite a bit, which is why I don't have that many pictures to post! She has proven to be quite a "mommy's girl" but I believe it was just a mixture of her cold with being in a brand new place surrounded by so many people she didn't know or recognize. That HAS to be overwhelming for such a little baby! But, she kept on her schedule--taking regular naps and slept 11 hours straight without a single peep!! (I'm sure Auntie and Uncle Joyce and Jerry were very happy about that!!)
All in all, it was a great trip and it was so great to get to visit with everyone!

Doctor Visit
Mallory went to the pediatrician to just check out some things that have been bothering me! She's had this scaly rash thing all over her body for some time now and the doctor says it's just baby eczema and to just put some cetaphil lotion on it--so that's good news! Also, she has been congested for a while now and the doc seems to think that's associated with how much she spits up ..aka..reflux. SO, back on the zantac Mallory will go!
Also, she weighs 13 lbs and 10oz!! She won't get an "official" weigh in until her 4 month appt. at the end of March.

History was Made!
At the doctor's office today, she was getting really bored of being on her back so I had her do some tummy time and she was REALLLLLY reaching her head up high!! Then, I turned to talk to the nurse and I look back and she was in the middle of rolling over!!! HAHAHAHA, I was really scared at first but the nurse just laughed and thought it was really cute. Then, I put her back on her tummy and she did it 2 more times!! hahaha, that is sooo funny and she loved doing it. Every time she did it she gave THE biggest smile :) So, that was her FIRST official rolling over onto her back!! (and of course she rolled to the right every time!)

Mallory will be dedicated at our church this Sunday. This is a very special time as a family for us. Please pray for us that we can help Mallory grow up and learn all about Jesus and God and become a loving person to everyone she meets!
How it's going now that Mallory is almost 8 weeks old...
I have gotten a lot of questions lately about how everything is going and I'm sorry I haven't written it on the blog!!
Mallory has turned out to be a good little baby girl :) For a while there, I wasn't so sure! Between about 3 and 5 weeks we had very many fussy days and I just wasn't sure what to do!
But then, I kind of decided that we both needed to be on a schedule so that both of our lives could be more organized and we could feel more in control!!
During the day time Mallory will eat every 2-2.5 hours and I put her in her swing for naps in between. During her awake times she talks up a storm and laughs and gurgles and it is THE BEST!! I know she's not really doing it on purpose right now, but one day she will and will continue to do so--we are so excited about that!
Once it gets to be her 2-3pm feeding she will go between 3.5 and 4 hours for her feedings and then Jason will feed her a bottle around 9:30 and put her in her crib for the night! She sleeps until 1:30-2:30am for a feeding and then right back to sleep (most nights, but not all the time) and then is awake between 5:30-6:30am to start the day all over again!
It's amazing how EVERYTHING we do is centered around when she will need to eat! But, I'm proud to say that it hasn't stopped us from doing anything! We have gone out to eat, hung out with friends, gone to the mall, etc. and it's so easy b/c she loves to go with us!
So, that's what is going on right now! I'll keep you informed of all the changes along the way!

MOVING TO COLUMBUS, OH
Yes, that's right. We are moving to Columbus, OH. Jason has a great job there with Chase--bought out WAMU in Sept. of '08--and that's where I will be a stay at home mom with Mallory :)
The movers are packing us up on 2/2 and we are flying out for good on 2/4. It is very sad to go, but we are just trying to look forward to our new adventure as a brand new family!
We are also very sad to leave our dogs behind, but it is what was best for our family. I'm sure they will get adopted up and have GREAT new homes :) Maybe someone will even adopt both of them together!!
That's the latest news on the Kendalls...stay tuned!

Report on first visit to pediatrician
Mallory's first visit to the doctor was very good. She was back up to 8lbs and 11oz after being down to 7lb 15oz (her birht weight was 8lbs 15 oz) the day after we left the hospital. The feedings are going very well and everything else was looking great.
Angie goes to the doctor today to get the strips taken off of her sutures so she is a little nervous about that.

Update
Well needless to say, blogging has not been our highest priority lately. Mallory's weight dropped some after birth so we have been spending a lot of time sticking to our feeding plan which has required both parents attention. We went in for our check up today and Mallory was back up 4 oz so the plan is working! We took Mallory to the store today for the first time and she had a great time and walked away with a few nice new and obviously girl outfits!

Feeding frenzy
Its been tough to get any really good blog appropriate pictures the last 12 hours or so. Mallory is in a feeding frenzy and can't stay away from momma hardly long enough to get her diaper changed. Seems to be a normal thing to help momma get her milk going. Everyone is still doing very well!

10:10pm Well the doctor called it and we are going back for a c-section but the good news is we should have the baby out in an hour or less

Progress has slowed
8:20 pm Progress has slowed and when angie has a strong contraction the baby's heart rate falls. The doctor thinks that the intensity of contractions needed for birth may be dangerous for the baby. The doctor is going to try and increase the pitocin dose again and see how the baby responds but things are looking like its going to be a c-section.
About half way there
6:00 pm, the nurse just checked Angie's cervix and she is about 4.5 cm so half way there and the nurse said the toughest part is usually getting to 5 and the second half usually goes much quicker.
Chilling Out
3.5 CM, 90% efaced
So some progress. The doctor inserted the inter-uterine monitor to measure the intensity so that they can see if the contractions are getting strong enough. They are increasing the pitocin to get them going. The doctor is not super optimistic for a vaginal delivery but its early.

Update!
Just in case you haven't heard, I thought I would catch you up to speed! When Jason and I went to the doctor on Wednesday (11/26) we talked with my doctor about a possible induction since I am soooo scared this baby is going to be so big!
When she checked me, I was already 2.5 cm dilated and over 50% effaced! She was very pleased with that progress and agreed to an induction and thought it was a good idea. So, Jason and I thought that since 12/2 is the original due date that we would schedule it for then and if it came before that then PERFECT!
Hopefully you will be able to be around your computer on Tuesday (12/2) because we will be posting pictures and writing updates on this blog all day long--or as long as it takes for baby to come out! See you then :)

The good news is that I am finally dilating a bit and showing progress in that department! The bad news is that THE BABY NEEDS TO GET OUT, but still seems so content in there!! Hahaha, it's getting really big and very uncomfortable to walk and lay down--basically to do anything. The doc has confirmed that the head is very low and is not floating around in the pelvis, which is great, but it makes for difficulty in moving around. It's a good thing that I'm not working anymoer, b/c it just wouldn't be happening anyway! When I go in next Wednesday for my next visit we are going to talk about induction so I'll make sure to keep everyone updated!
False Labor 11/11/08
WOW! Jason and I thought for sure we were going to have a baby on Veteran's Day (my Dad's birthday!) I was having contractions for 2 days, but when I got checked out they told me to go home, lay down and take hot baths! The contractions were not doing anything, just helping my body practice! My doc also said that the contractions I was having were about half of what I should expect--YIKES!!! We know that in the next 2 1/2 weeks we really ARE going to have a little baby! Stay tuned....

Here are some pics from my baby shower that my 3 good friends--Katie, Jen and Jude--threw for me. I'm so glad we planned to have it at my house since I have to be on modified bed rest! I was able to sit in my glider and have people wait on me hand and foot :) hahaha!
I got great things from my registry and some good advice from the ladies who already have children. I can't wait to have this munchkin finally be here!
Thanks for coming everyone!!

Update at 31 weeks...
Things haven't changed too much. I have been at home lying down for the past 4 days and I am continuing to have small contractions--with and without pain. I can tell that these are not doing anything as far as making me go into labor or anything, but are still a bit unnerving. The doctor did not mention braxton hicks, but I have a feeling that this is what these are. The worst thing right now is that I am extremely bored and my bum gets real numb!! I'm going to try to crochet something, I got a new book to read and I have lots of t.v. to watch! I see the doc again on Wed. morning so I'll have more to report then!
31 Week news...
There's nothing like waking up at 5:30 in the morning with what you think are contractions!! Obviously I panicked, but got in to see the doctor within a few hours. I was having small contractions, but they were dying down quickly. There were no signs that I was going into labor so that was really good to hear. So, until further notice I am on modified bed rest and it really helps. Every time I get up to do something my uterus tightens and contracts--without pain--but I'm sure that's not supposed to happen every time I get up. That's what is going on now! I'll keep you updated!

29.5 Weeks
So, I had my doctor's appointment this past Friday--the 19th--and everything is looking great! The doctor wanted to do an ultrasound to make sure the placenta was not covering the cervix and she said that the placenta was in a great spot now. She also said that, according the ultrasound measurements, that our baby weighs a WHOPPING 3lbs and 12 oz.!!! Almost 4lbs. I think the average weight for 29 weeks is around 2 and 1/3 lbs. So, needless to say that my baby is really big right now! My uterus is measuring perfectly at 29 weeks, so there was no need to change my due date at all. She said that we'll need to do another ultrasound in a few weeks to see how big it is then!
That's the update from the doc. I am still doing OK. I don't feel as great as I was feeling, but work is in full swing and I know that is taking a toll on my body. I'm just going to keep trukin' along though!!

29 weeks...
Hi there!! So, on top of moving and trying to get everything organized in our new placed we haven't had time to take any new pictures BUT I am even BIGGER than these pictures 2 weeks ago!! My students from last year are just in awe of my big belly and they can't believe I still have over 2 months to go--well, neither can I!! My new students are like, "umm, you're really pregnant!" It's really kind of funny :)
Things are moving quite along--especially the baby. It moves ALL THE TIME and I'm not sure it every takes a nap. Hopefully it will be SOOO tired by the time it comes out that it will just sleep for the first 6 months--hahahaha!!

27 Weeks...almost 3rd trimester :) (9/2)
Hi there! Well, the latest update is that the baby is doing great. My doctor has determined that I am definitely anemic but is not too worried about it. I am on iron supplements that are hopefully helping baby get the blood he/she needs to grow :)
I was supposed to go back to work today, but the teachers in our district are on strike. The union is working hard for us to figure out a good contract that we can all agree upon. SO, who knows how long this will last!
Also, please pray for Jason and his family as his grandmother passed away yesterday. She was not well for a long time so it wasn't necessarily a surprise, but still very sad. She was well loved and will be missed.

24 Weeks--6 Months!!
I just got back from my 24 week appointment and everything is looking great. I'm finally gaining weight--which the doctor is thrilled about--and my blood pressure was great. I had to drink the sugar water this time, which was AWESOME!! I could drink one of those everyday if they let me ;) This will help let them know if I have gestational diabetes or not. Let's pray for not. I don't know if I could do without my chocolate ice cream!
I have 2 weeks until we move into our new place and until school starts. I think school is going to be a good distraction and help time go by quickly, but I am still a bit worried about the demands of the job. The doc is too, so she is making sure I give her updates regularly on how I am feeling and making sure I am not overdoing it.
Drill also officially starts next week with 3 hour practices every day until school starts. It is a great team this year and I am looking forward to our first competition in November!!
That's it for now. I'll hopefully get some more pics over the weekend :)

Camping--Summer 2008
So, every summer we try to get out to Eastern Washington (where it's guaranteed sunshine and warm weather) and go camping. This trip was a little different, of course, because I am 20 weeks pregnant! Other than just being tired a lot, it was really a lot the same and we really had a great time! Here are some pictures!

So what's new now?
So, in the past week (I'm finishing up my 19th week) I have begun to feel the baby move :) Sometimes it feels like a fish flopping around and sometimes it'll actually "kick." Jason has felt it once, but as soon as he puts his hand on my belly it stops moving. I guess it doesn't like to perform under pressure! We'll fix that!!
Also, my 2 great girlfriends Laura and Katie took me to BabiesRUs to register for gift items!
